Protoype Podcast Campaign: Artificial Intelligence and the Unique Expectations
of Employees

As a B2B SaaS leader, RingCentral aimed to revolutionize how it presented its podcast series to better engage new and existing customers.

Context

This campaign, a collaborative prototype project, aimed to transform the presentation of RingCentral’s podcast series using new technologies and interactive design. Working closely with Content Marketing Director Robert Murphy, we concentrated on developing a podcast campaign to present compelling content and enhance the user experience through visuals, animations, and a direct mailer.

The Problem

RingCentral’s podcast series struggled to capture and retain audience interest due to a lack of interactive elements and visual engagement. The challenge was to develop a prototype campaign to transform how the podcasts were delivered, focusing on engaging new and existing customers.

The Solution

I created a storyboard that aligned with the podcast’s narrative and designed an interactive parallax scrolling landing page concept featuring animations, videos, and podcast content. I also developed a dynamic, multi-faceted direct mailer, a key part of our engagement strategy aligned with the campaign’s theme. The mailer was designed to spark curiosity, leading recipients to engage with the podcast series. Although the project remained a prototype, it demonstrated a new, visually captivating way to present podcast content.

Animation Prototypes

I developed a series of simple animations to highlight key sections of the concept. Had the project been approved, my role would have been to art direct an animator and a web developer to bring the vision to life.

Direct Mailer: Print and Packaging

This direct mailer was crafted to engage both new and existing customers, encouraging them to subscribe to RingCentral’s podcast series. Launching as part of the campaign, the mailer aligned seamlessly with the theme of the podcast landing page, ‘Artificial Intelligence and the Unique Expectations of Employees.’

I designed a dynamic, multi-faceted die-cut direct mailer that folded securely, with the top flap sliding into a custom slit, ensuring easy mailing without damage. To keep costs down, the mailer was sized at 4x6 when closed, avoiding any additional postage charges. The sturdy, satin-coated stock added a premium tactile experience.

As recipients opened the flaps, they would uncover sections of a compelling story, eventually leading to a podcast synopsis. This gradual reveal was intended to spark curiosity, driving sign-ups for the series and ultimately boosting customer engagement and sales.
